- Mt. Tamalpais Outdoor Theatre!
-
- Monday was an off day during the past Coliseum run. It was a glorious
- cool sunny day, so I took a drive up Mt. Tam, laid around in the sun
- with a book, then follwed a path to the Mt. Theatre. This is a
- natural amphitheatre with stone benches set into the hillside, a stage
- area at the bottom and a beautiful view. I sat on a bench looking out
- and imagined seeing an outdoor show here.
-
- That evening I got Mouse to sign my copy of his book _Freehand_, and
- afterward, while paging through the book, I came upon a poster
- advertising a 1966 show at the Mt. Theatre with Grateful Dead, Joan
- Baez and Quicksilver ($2.50 adults, $1.00 student/child)!
-
- The poster features Winnie The Pooh, and there's a short poem in small
- print at the bottom that just about says it all:
-
- AND THE COWS ARE ALMOST COOING, AND THE TURTLE-DOVES ARE MOOING,
- WHICH IS WHY A POOH IS POOHING IN THE SUN.
