  13. I haven't posted here yet, but some of you may know me from trades from other
  14. groups, so here's a big Az Howdy! from me to all of you...

  16. On to more important issues...
  17. I picked up GAIBTY a couple of weeks ago (actually from Noteworthy Music), and
  18. I have really fallen in love with it...It took a few listenings for this to
  19. happen, but I really enjoy the music on it...
  20.  
  21. I missed most of the discussion about other versions of songs on the album, but
  22. a local band, Major Lingo, does a version of Black Jack Davey.  John Z. (of
  23. Lingo) said that it was an old english folk song that they picked up from Taj 
  24. Mahal.  Has anybody heard the Taj Mahal version?  Lingo does it with a sort of
  25. reggae/ska beat, which is great for dancing up a sweat.  The Lingo version is
  26. very different from the version on GAIBTY.  I wonder what the Taj Mahal version
  27. is like.  Anybody know?  If anybody is willing, I have the Lingo version on a 
  28. couple of boots (legit boots, or is that an oxymoron?  Lingo allows taping) and
  29. I am always willing to trade for new (to me) live music.
