  27. I'm not using the DJ (using a Canon BJ-330 instead) but it sounds like what 
  28. I used to get before I installed Adobe Type Manager. If you're not using ATM 
  29. or PostScript, Finale uses a bitmapped font which is not very high 
  30. resolution for printing and looks terrible. With ATM installed, Windows 
  31. uses the Adobe Type 1 information to create characters scaled to the actual 
  32. resolution your printer is capable of. The difference in appearance with & 
  33. without ATM (which costs about $50 or so) is breathtaking. Unfortunately, 
  34. the current version of Finale does not work with Win 3.1's TrueType, though 
  35. _supposedly_ a version 3.0 to be released someday will.

  42. PS: With ATM installed, _any_ Type 1 fonts you install become available to 
  43. _all_ your Windows applications, not just Finale (for example, WordPerfect 
  44. for Windows).
