- Concerning Wunderlich's Schoene Muellerin, no one has mentioned that he
- released two recordings: (from memory) 1955, available here on Nonesuch,
- and 1965 on DG. I love both these, and they're perfect representations
- of, repectively, a really young great voice and a more mature great
- voice, with emphasis on great both times. The early one conveys youth
- and innocence in the most direct way: he's actually young, and I suspect
- that the impression of innocence isn't acting. The later recording adds
- depth to the reading. I find Wunderlich exemplary for this music.
