- For me, other than Karajan and Bernstein, Carlos Kleiber is
- the greatest living conductor. Although he has a limited
- repertoire, any concert or recording conducted by him is an
- event. No one else nowadays can surpass what he can achieve in an
- orchestra. One incident can prove his ability. When Karajan
- wanted to retire from BPO, he first wanted Kleiber to succeed
- his place. Who else do you think can?
