- I was going to cite the ending of the Bruckner 4th as among the
- greatest. This finale is one of the strongest among a set of
- symphonies which are typified by great opening movements and
- slow movements, and weak finales.

- As for 'meaningless noise', I can only suggest that 'meaning' is
- almost completely within the ear of the beholder. If you detect
- nothing in Bruckner's symphonies except noise, it's not *my* loss.
