- I agree with you!!! I hate it when people talk out of both sides of
- their mouth!!!!!!

- You appear to be a newbie here, Chris. A lot of us have worked out
- a set of very painstaking guidelines to help in interpreting articles
- on this newsgroup. Maybe this will help in interpreting Stacey's
- articles:
-
- 1) Assume that every word written here is intended to be taken absolutely
- seriously. If somebody writes, "Jesus was a blue, three-headed native
- of Jupiter," assume that they're theologically and astronomically
- deficient, and correct their errors.
-
- 2) Condemn humor, sarcasm, satire, hyperbole, and irony wherever you
- find it. This subtle form of heresy has crept into the church, and
- occasionally manifests itself on this newsgroup. Exhort the
- wiseacres to repent, and pray for them. They need it.
-
- 3) Continually point out the poor witness of Christians who disagree
- with one another. This happens all the time on this newsgroup, and
- man, it can drive you crazy. Imagine how sad Jesus must feel when
- He sees people who have different opinions. Rebuke those who think
- differently than you, and pray that they might come to the knowledge
- of The Truth. These people need to be convicted and become one in
- Christ.
-
- 4) Be sure to mention Amy Grant, George Bush, Bill Clinton, gays,
- U2, Bill Gothard, the King James Version (the only True Bible) and Carman,
- preferably all in the same posting. Mentioning all 8 in a single
- paragraph earns you the coveted "Net Saint" (or "Net God," on the
- secular newsgroups) award. Five or more gets you a free subscription
- to "The Watchtower." Three or more gets you two free subscriptions to
- "Awake."
-
- 5) Remember that rec.music.christian is made up of people from every
- Christian denomination. Most of these denominations are in error, and quite
- a few qualify as cults. You can't be too careful. If you feel that
- constant exposure to heretical thinking may damage your walk with
- God, don't read. Instead, just post little salvos every few
- weeks or so, exhorting people to be baptized backwards in the name
- of Jesus *only* and to avoid music played on brass instruments.
- They may not listen, but it won't be your fault. Remember, Satan
- has blinded the eyes of this world. Don't cast your pearls before
- swine. Shake the dust off your feet. Extend to them the right foot
- of disfellowship. Twirl around three times, then turn off your computer.
- You'll feel better, and it will be good for your cardiovascular system
- too.
-
- If you keep these ideas in mind, I'm sure you'll fit right in. Welcome
- aboard.
