- I was having that problem with my CD player as well, a lot of discs over
- 65-70 minutes would mistrack like crazy. One of those CDs with the little
- lint brush on it worked for me. At the time, some Circuit City drone told
- me that really old players may have trouble with the newer 75-80 minute
- discs because the laser beam is just too wide (in other words, old
- technology...wouldn't you love to see some *new* players while you're
- here?). Whether this is true or just utter bullshit I have no idea, but I
- did notice an article in _Popular Science_ recently noting that Sony had
- passed a milestone in laser technology, creating a narrower beam that
- would allow something like 2-3 hours of music on one CD...as long as the
- CD player was in a room about 150 degrees below zero. Who knows...but I'd
- give the lint brush a shot first; if nothing else, it's good to brush off
- the laser every once in a while anyway.
