  21. I was very surprised by this aspect of the MD play-only model, too.  I think 
  22. it's larger than the old Sony D-99 CD player (the portable that was designed 
  23. to play 3 inch CDs), which is sort of surprising.  However, it may not be much 
  24. larger than the D-99 taken together with its battery pack.  Maybe they're 
  25. holding back on the miniaturization so that they'll be able to release smaller 
  26. and better models in the future. :)

  39. I think I read somewhere that Sony planned to release component MD player/
  40. recorders in the future.  As you suggest, however, there's no reason you 
  41. couldn't use the portable in your stereo system at home.
