- I was very surprised by this aspect of the MD play-only model, too. I think
- it's larger than the old Sony D-99 CD player (the portable that was designed
- to play 3 inch CDs), which is sort of surprising. However, it may not be much
- larger than the D-99 taken together with its battery pack. Maybe they're
- holding back on the miniaturization so that they'll be able to release smaller
- and better models in the future. :)

- I think I read somewhere that Sony planned to release component MD player/
- recorders in the future. As you suggest, however, there's no reason you
- couldn't use the portable in your stereo system at home.
