- In response to Sandeep's response:

- I'm anti-drug in principle, and was not trying to reinforce
- any heroin myths. The fact is that a very accomplished musician
- reported to me that he felt he heard better behind heroin. Maybe
- drugs open some doors for some people at some times; never did
- anything for my playing, so I don't mess with it. However, there
- was a connection, and it's interesting and instructive to read
- reports from guys like Dexter and Gerry Mulligan and Miles,
- who were there. Strong peer disapproval is probably the best
- weapon: get Mike Brecker on some anti-drug poster and stand back.
