That's a surprise to me, too...  I knew that heroin, and other drugs, were
the norm in the jazz world in the past, but I had the impression (largely
from speaking with Don Thompson, a relatively big name pianist, vibist,
and bassist in Toronto) that most jazz players these days were a little
more clueful.  Thompson even told me that most of the guys he plays with
are scared to have a beer at a gig, for fear it will mess up their music!
Maybe that's just Toronto The Good, I don't know...
