  26. Downbeat polls several times in this period.  Would he be excluded?  The
  27. history of jazz in this country is not comprised of discrete jumps from
  28. one style to the next.

  30. Why don't we try discussing the Swing Era in rec.music.bluenote?  I doubt
  31. that the inclination toward more recent styles keeps people away from the
  32. newsgroup.  Most jazz fans have an interest in all kinds of jazz.  Traffic
  33. in this newsgroup does not seem excessively great, either.
