- Let me add a similar story. On December 17th I order from Beatlefest, a
- T-shirt for my sister in Chicago, and the LaserD "Beatles 1st U.S.
- Visit", along with a T for my wife.
-
- I ordered on the promise that this stuff would get to my sister and to
- me by Xmas, and Lapidos personally assured me the orders would make it.
-
- I got a notice of the amount for my sister's shirt a few days later, and
- she did get her order December 23rd.
-
- I brought home our brand-new LD player and waited for my order to
- arrive. It never did, and I phoned Beatlefest December 26th and left an
- unhappy message. I got a message back on December 27th from Lapidos,
- and he acted like Bruce described: very defensive, yet apologetic ("We
- were out of stock, no distributor anywhere seems to have it", etc.).
- When I talked to Lapidos in person the next day, to cancel the order, he
- told me that even though the disc was back-ordered, the shirt was ready
- to go...in a few days.
-
- A bad taste is left in my mouth, like Bruce. I had paid high postage to
- get the order in time, and yet he couldn't even think enough to send the
- T-shirt part of the order immediately, a stocking-stuffer for my wife;
- and he sure as hell should have checked if the LD was in stock.
-
- Bah humbug.
-
- "It won't be long, yeah..."
