  12. If I'm remembering correctly, John Sinclair was the founder of the
  13. White Panthers, a Detroit-area militant radical group modeled after
  14. the Black Panthers [not such an uncommon tribute in the late 60s and
  15. early 70s -- my favorite was the Grey Panthers, a militant senior
  16. citizens group that sounds like a joke but was actually very serious
  17. and played a large role in the fight for things like eliminating
  18. mandatory retirement ages] whose membership were white youth.  They
  19. were pro-drug so the marijuana arrest seems not unlikely.
