- That's kind of harsh, I think. There's some wonderful material on
- these so-called "terrible" rehearsal tapes. In fact, the unreleased
- Martin-produced "Get Back" acetate was assembled from some of this
- stuff. Granted there are more than a few "dogs" to be found in these
- sessions (I never liked the song "Teddy Boy"), but there are lots of
- gems to be mined by new bootleg collectors, such as the "fast version"
- of Get Back with Lennon on vocal, or the "I've Got a Feeling" with
- the hilarious false start ("I'm so ashamed...I goofed again") or
- the famous "News Report" featuring Macca reading about the
- "inevitable" break-up of the Beatles in the newspaper.

- OK if you're after pristine alternate takes in master quality, go
- for the UM/URT stuff. But don't dismiss these recordings solely for
- *that* reason alone.
