- Eventually, every professor who teaches an introductory physics or astronomy
- class gets around to Sir Isaac Newton. In most cases this results in a short
- speech on how Newton may well have been the greatest scientist in history.
- One astronomy professor gave his speech, speculating on how many Nobels Newton
- deserved, and suggesting that Newton's _Principia_ may well have been the
- greatest work ever written. He had his class convinced, until one student in
- the back shouted out
-
- "Yeah, but he died a virgin!"
