  14. It all depends upon what topic of heraldry the SCA is discussing. If it deals
  15. entirely with SCA rules of blazon, and the inevitable lawyering that causes,
  16. it does not belong here. If it deals with more general topics, such as whether
  17. color-on-color was used more frequently than our college of arms currently
  18. believes, it is probably useful to ask people outside the SCA for an opinion.

  20. It might also be useful to discuss Tadhg's ideal of "south of the Trent, west
  21. of the Rhine and north of.... (I forget, somewhere in southern France) and
  22. between 1100 and 1400" as the true essence of "pure" heraldic style, here.

  24. That might generate some interesting discussion from non-SCA students of
  25. history.
