  13. I finally purchased Madden '92 and although it is *very* similar to Madden '92,
  14. I am a football fanatic, so I liked some of the improvements, like the coin
  15. toss, and the addition of some of the better teams to ever play in the NFL (I'd
  16. like to see some AFL teams in the Championship edition because some compared
  17. very well to NFL teams at the time).

  19. Anyway, here are some of the problems that I found with this cart.  Note: I
  20. have a 1st edition cart.  For one thing, this game crashes entirely too much
  21. for me.  Not as much as Bull Vs. Lakers does for me, but still enough to piss
  22. me off.  I have yet to play a conference championship game without at least one
  23. crash.  Another problem is the passing game.  On too many passes, my receiver
  24. will catch the ball and then stand there with his hands in the air, unable to
  25. move for a couple of seconds.  Unfortunately, the defense does not also have
  26. this problem, and this eliminates some plays like the screen pass.  When I punt
  27. the ball, there are two pauses in the game when the ball is in the air.  It
  28. does not hurt the game play, but it is fustrating watching the whole game come
  29. to a complete halt for a moment.  Fourth and final major problem is that
  30. sometimes my stat screen after a game was garbage, completely unreadable.  AND,
  31. after some championship games, I can see my playoff stats, other times I
  32. cannot.  Has anyone else experienced any of these problems?  Or is it just my
  33. cart or even my system (though I can only slightly imagine how that could be).

  35. Other little annoyances: In one game, one player turned into a shadow.  You
  36. could see like a reflection of him on the field, but only his star existed. 
  37. The field goal sequence stinks now compared to Madden '92.  The post are some
  38. short you sometimes have to hope the ball went thru.  I thought this was pro
  39. football, not college.  Once, my ball hit where the goal post and bounced off
  40. where the post *would* have been, if it went higher ie. the ball bounced off of
  41. air.  And, the crowd really looks stupid on these kicks (compared to the SNES
  42. version) and interferes with gameplay, causing choppiness on both field
  43. goal/extra point kicks and some touchdowns.

  45. Absolutely *none* of these problems are apparent on Madden '92 (though it does
  46. crash like twice a year on me) and makes what could be a pretty decent upgrade
  47. disappointing.  If anybody else has experienced this problems, please let me
  48. know.  This is the second new EA Sports game I have purchased this year for $60
  49. and both have crashing problems, with the Bulls Vs. Lakers being unplayable
  50. most if the time (full game any time length).  They'd better get it together; I
  51. don't plan to drop another $60 on a game that does not wanna work and have to go
  52. through tons of trouble and telephone calls to EA to get satisfaction.
