- Over the holiday I began playing the game Toejam & Earl for the Sega Genesis
- system. If you are not familiar with the game the rest of this post won't
- mean much to you...
-
- I don't own this game so some of the terms may be incorrect, I will refer to
- the "elevator" as the Tardis simply because it reminds me of Dr. Who...
-
- Problem: Toejam has on Spring Shoes and prepares to enter the Tardis to go to
- the next level. When the Tardis door opens Toejam jumps (A button) into
- the Tardis (aided by the Spring Shoes) and WHAM!!... his head smashes
- through the ceiling of the Tardis and Toejam is stuck there, hanging
- from the ceiling by his upper torso. His shadow remains outside the
- door of the Tardis as if he had just jumped. I tried it a second time
- and had the exact same results. Toejam didn't have any presents in his
- posession either time so I was unable to experiment any further.
-
- In Two Player mode, if Earl falls to the level below Toejam's "stuck"
- level he is trapped because the Tardis is still with Toejam! Since
- Toejam can't leave the Tardis it stays on Toejam's current level. In
- "split screen" mode when the srceens splits initially Toejam shows up
- all stretched out still in his jumping action. I must have laughed for
- 10 minutes or more when I discovered this, it was pretty funny. The
- "jump" can only be done with Toejam, Earl jumps over the Tardis and
- I was unable to get him stuck.
-
- Has anybody else experienced this "problem"? If you have what have you done to
- escape the Tardis? The first incident was accidental and I had to RESET a good
- game because both Toejam and Earl were stuck without use of the Tardis.
