- Yeap. 100% genuine. Prepare your asbestos thingies for some more...

- Again. WAKE UP! Mode 7 isn't so flexible. It's a dream when you
- want to do stuff like landspeeder part in the Star Wars or racetrack
- in FZero/Mario Kart, but IT IS NOT A SPRITE ZOOMING MODE. WC on
- the Mega CD will possibly be a great game - Mega CD has a true
- sprite scaling. SNES Mode 7 is just background scaling/rotation.
- with some tricks, it's possible to make it look like it was done
- with sprites as SNES has 4 independent playfields (max), but it's
- VERY hard to do, and not flexible at all.
-
- What they did on WC SNES was a job well done. Look how chuncky is
- the zooming/rotating of cars in FZero. All frames are stored in
- memory, not scaled. They could not do it this way with WC, as there
- is so fucking many ship frames, that 4 Megabytes would have been tight..
- and it's only 1 megabytes (8 megabits)
-
- SNES has so fucking lame processor bus, that it's a miracle what they
- did with WC. I really hope that the programmer(s) of SNES WC would be
- here to explain the problems. I know there are few professional
- SNES programmers out there reading this group - could someone set
- these things straight for good?
-
- <flame off.>
