- PS III is a letdown compared with ][, the mazes are not nearly as challenging,
- and the combat scenes are well drawn, but poorly animated. Most of the other
- graphics are superior to PS ][ however, and the storylines are about as good.
- PS III is good for people who were frustrated about how hard PS II was, but
- as for me, I was disappointed.
- Sword of Vermillion is one of my favorites and I played it through
- four or five times, if not more. I only play most RPG's once or twice. The
- combat is real-time against up to nine monsters. It's not as good as
- Golden Axe fighting, but its quite fun, especially if you have interesting
- magic to use. The screen shows both first person and map views in windows
- on the same screen, but you must find a map for the map display to work.
- I would definitely recommend it, and because its old, you might get it cheap.
- If you are into hard-core D&D spellcasting, charachter generation and
- equiment/weapons/armour outfitting, you should check out Might & Magic-Gates to
- another world. This game has a weak plot compared to PSII or III, but its
- a huge quest with lots to explore. I took me a month to 'win' it, but there
- were still more places to go and riddles to solve. You'll need a notebook
- to keep track of all the clues you find in towns and dungeons. When you win,
- it lets you go back to solve any unfinished business using hyper-powered up
- charachters. The only downside is that combat can get boring when you are
- swamped with 100 or so weak charachters attacking your party, but being
- creative with magic spells can make things more interesting.
