  17.      A bit under $250. :)  But seriously, the TurboDuo is basically the TG-16,
  18. the CD-ROM unit, and the newest version of the CD-ROM system card all rolled
  19. together into one unit.  It also includes two CDs with Ys I and II, Gate of
  20. Thunder (a *great* shooter), Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge and Bomberman,
  21. and a card-based game as well (whatever cheap game they have the most of at
  22. the time :) ).
  23.      To get a TG-16-based system roughly equivalent to the Duo, you'd have
  24. to buy the TG-16 ($50), the CD-ROM player ($150), and order the new CD-ROM
  25. system card and pack-in games from TTI (about $95, I believe).  Since the Duo
  26. is just under $300, the cost is basically identical, but of course getting
  27. the Duo gives you only one piece of hardware to worry about.
  28.      A few other differences:
  29.      The Duos use different controllers (DuoPads and DuoTaps, instead of
  30. TurboPads and TurboTaps).  Apparently, they changed the controller interface
  31. to allow for different sorts of controllers later on.  Adapter cables exist
  32. to let you use Turbo controllers with the Duo.
  33.      The TurboDuo doesn't provide regular RF video output; it only provides
  34. A/V stereo output (where there are three RCA-type plugs, one for the video and
  35. two for the stereo channels).  If you don't have a TV or VCR that supports
  36. A/V input, you're in trouble with the Duo.  If you don't have stereo equipment,
  37. you'll need a stereo-to-mono adapter cable to combine the two sound channels.
  38.      I'm told that the CD unit in the Duo is of better quality than the one
  39. used in the TG-16 CD units.
  40.      The Duo comes with rebate coupons, basically $5 back for each of the next
  41. ten TurboDuo-related things (games, controllers, whatever) you buy.
