- I remember reading that Nintendo is working on a new GFX co-processor
- chip to be placed inside some future cartridges. The same article mentioned
- that SMK contains a proto version of this chip which is supposed to
- offload some of the processing from the main SNES unit. This may be
- the cause of any alleged problems. Don't know that I would call it
- a lock-out chip, but it may have that function as a side effect.
