- Not to start a "flame war" here, but I own the first Genesis Mickey Mouse and
- the Donald Duck "follow-up" (although you may be referring to the new Mickey/
- Donald combo game which I didn't think was out yet). I also just recently
- purchased the new SNES Mickey game. I support my Genesis when it has better
- games (eg. Streets of Rage 2), but there is literally NO COMPARISON between
- the Genesis games (particularly the first Mickey game) and the SNES version.
- The SNES version blows it away. The subtle uses of scaling and rotation
- along with the larger color selection create a much more "Disney-eque"
- feeling.
-
- On another note, I find the game more playable than either of the previous
- Genesis titles (although I really liked the original Mickey game start to
- finish). It is not, as a previous post would suggest, too easy or short.
- On the whole, it seems much longer (not by level count though) than the
- original Genesis version, and there are certainly more hidden rooms and
- "power-ups".
-
- While I am certainly an advocate of difficulty settings on video games, I
- wish people posting reviews of games would refrain from renting a game,
- playing through on the easiest setting, and reviewing it as too easy and
- short.
-
- At any rate, Mickey for SNES is great. Everyone I know can "get in to it."
- (this assumes the more "hardcore" gamers can deal with controlling a cartoon
- mouse and riding floating leaves and such :-)).
