- Funny I could have sworn it was "Quit talking and Start Chalking"?
- At any rate I don't have the game. Try running the sound board self
- tests and see what you get on it. Perhaps someone that owns one
- could post what should be there for the poor fellow?
-
- Note: I ran into an EBD once that did not talk correctly;
- it was basically the "Black corrosion" on the MPU ROM and
- 40 pin devices as well as on the sound ROM and other socketed devices
- that seemed to be causing this apparently bad connection that
- was fine after a thorough cleaning. The MPU ROM having a flakey
- connection never made much sense as I know that A checksum is done
- on them during power up! They were however by trial and error proven
- to be part of the problem. The Black stuff on the pins can be removed
- by scraping them with a small flat bladed screwdriver. Very fine
- sandpaper works well also, though to be safe I recommend backing
- up the copy of the ROM to disk or another EPROM before using it
- (I've never lost one to static from sandpaper but I'm sure it
- is possible so beware!).
