- I have a friend who is currently working for IBM that really helped
- during ouir 3026 days. He came up with a table (TAL factors, or Tonnage
- Allocation Limits) that'll figure maxxed armour, speed, and how much left for
- weapons (included gyros, etc..), made a factory scenario not unlike Solaris VII
- (Should've copyrighted the damn thing, could've lived well!), and came up with
- two 'mechs from hell!
-
- The first was a 20 ton Roadrunner, not unlike the Flea. A modified
- Locust, it had two medium lasers, and a movement of 9/14! This thing could run
- circles around 'mechs and still couldn't be hit! (this was long before any of
- the 3050 stuff showed up, and it's legal).
-
- His other creation, related to the above posting, was a modified
- charger, but true to it's namesake. What made it different from its cousin
- above was the fact that it built-up NO HEAT, and had Max armour, AND had a
- not-so-secret weapon!
-
- He maxxed armour, retained movement, and added 20 machine guns. Ah! So
- he could only do 20 points of damage at close range, yes? Correct, but, he
- played the 'mech as the name implied: He'd charge 'mechs, then step back and
- unload on 'm with the machine guns, and then they'd have to make piloting rolls
- to avoid slipping on the shells on the ground! I think he renamed it the
- "Slammer".
