-
- I believe the game is too complicated now. The list of commands
- is huge, I guess there are lots of folks among us who can list
- more empire commands then UNIX commands.
-
- A larger problem must be, for newbies, to find out which features
- should be used. You have to read the source code to find out that,
- for example:
- - update order is NOT mobility-distribute-production.
- - mobility to move a ship == 480 / spd / (1+techfact).
- - research is useless.
- - happiness is useless in 60 etu/update games.
- - moving 1 dust costs 5 times as much mobility as moving civs.
- Well, I can go on and on with this list. Plus there is incorrect
- info in the documentation and output, for example the line in
- version "a non-aggy can harvest...". Why showing "per etu" anyway.
-
- This, plus lack of willpower to spend more then 4 hours a day on
- a game, makes sure that there will always be FODDER, and players
- who worked through the sources and have the time (the more fanatic
- ones) can boost their ego with this great game!
-
- Talking about ego... I just read Andy Frakes article and fully
- agreed with it! WHO IS USING YOUR ACCOUNT ANDY??? ;-)
