- There are presently four warp games forming on the EFF Judge,
- judge@morrolan.eff.org: jaguar, compress, express, and aargh!. Each of
- these has its special features, including various deadlines and use of the
- gunboat variant, among other things, but only aargh! has NMR!
-
- Game 'aargh!' is waiting for 7 players to sign on.
-
- The parameters for 'aargh!' are as follows:
- Move clock 1410 min 12.00 next 24.00 grace 48.00 delay 0.50 days smtwtfs
- Retreat clock -1 min 0.00 next 24.00 grace 48.00 delay 0.50 days smtwtfs
- Adjust clock -1 min 0.00 next 24.00 grace 48.00 delay 0.50 days smtwtfs
- Access: Different-site, Level: Any, Moderated, Dedication: -1.
- Variant: Standard.
- Flags: NMR, NoProxy.
- Press: White/Grey, White observers, No Fake Broadcast.
-
- Aargh! is a game _with_ NMR. This means that if a player does not submit
- his orders by the deadline and still has not submitted orders by the time
- the grace period runs out, the server will execute orders for him or her.
- In the case of moves, this means that all CD units will HOLD. In the case
- of dislodgement, units which otherwise would execute but have no retreat
- orders submitted will be _disbanded_. During adjustment, failure to submit
- orders means that you either won't build any units at all or, if you were
- supposed to remove units, will have to leave it up to the computer.
- Aargh! is a game for people who read their mail _every day_.
-
- Aargh! is also a game with short deadline: 24 hours, with 48 hour grace
- periods. Three days to submit orders is all you get, in other words.
-
- Aargh! processes seven days a week, however, if a new deadline would be
- set to fall between midnight and noon it will instead fall after noon.
-
- Finally, Aargh! allows grey press. You may send orders to your fellow
- players with no from: line attached! However, the default is white press
- and you may not fake broadcasts. Observers and alternates may only use
- white press.
-
- All in all, Aargh! is hard but fair. Anyone who feels that he or she
- cannot regularly submit orders at least once every 72 hours should not
- sign up. If you blow your grace periods, you have no grounds for
- complaint. This is your final warning. :)
