  13. A question for all the USCF rating experts out there.  I'm confused about
  14. the title shown on my label.

  16. Background: Before the US G/60 Championship, my label showed 1889/B4, meaning
  17. I held the B (1700) lifetime title, with 4 of the 10 norm points needed to
  18. earn the a (1800) title.
  19.  
  20. I did pretty well in the G/60, gaining about 30 rating points and making a
  21. 1900 norm.  This should give me 2 norm points toward A (1900) and 5 toward
  22. a (1800), giving me a total of 9 toward a.  So far so good--my new label
  23. shows 1920/B9.

  25. HOWEVER...it was my understanding that achieving an established rating in
  26. any 100-point level automatically gave one the title one level below that.
  27. In short, since I have now achieved an established rating above 1900, I thought
  28. I would receive the a (1800) title automatically, and would expect my
  29. label to show 1920/a2.

  31. Am I wrong, or is the labelling software wrong?
