- Re. the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute), my cousin-in-law(?)
- in Bude, Cornwall is something or other in the local group. She tells
- us that most of the donations go to insuring the all-volunteer crews
- so that their families are taken care of if they are killed--and some
- are every so often. We send a cheque every year even though we left
- England in '63.
-
- When I was a kid, and for long after, I always went to visit the local
- lifeboat, and I always appreciated just seeing those guys when I was
- out sailing. Great people.
-
- B.S! (they always send us a tea-towel with pictures of lifeboats
- present and long-gone).
