  26. You missed a very important point.  The USCG operates for "the greater good" of
  27. the United States and its citizens.  Only a portion of the CG budget is
  28. dedicated to "boating services".  They also license, inspect, enforce (ie.
  29. potty patrol), interdict (ie. the boarding thing), provide navigation aides and
  30. chase submarines (no smileies).

  32. I would be willing to pay a fee which directly supported the USCG (even if I
  33. don't always), but to fatten up the budget so that more can be over spent is
  34. beyond my will ...
