- You missed a very important point. The USCG operates for "the greater good" of
- the United States and its citizens. Only a portion of the CG budget is
- dedicated to "boating services". They also license, inspect, enforce (ie.
- potty patrol), interdict (ie. the boarding thing), provide navigation aides and
- chase submarines (no smileies).

- I would be willing to pay a fee which directly supported the USCG (even if I
- don't always), but to fatten up the budget so that more can be over spent is
- beyond my will ...
