- Yup. I gave my almost-8-yr-old daughter a Specialized Hardrock Mega -- 20"
- wheels, 6 speeds, hand brakes, knobbies, way-cool metallic purply pink
- paint. It's a success; far from being intimidated by the gears, she uses
- them all, spinning up hills that used to bring her close to tears on her
- old 1-speed.

- I didn't get any bike stuff myself because, believe it or not, I pretty
- much have everything I need right now (except that windtrainer...).
- Instead, my wife gave me a bread machine so I can eat a better grade of
