- Before this discussion reaches the conclusion that bikeways (delineated
- lanes on roadways) and bike paths (separate from roadways) are more
- dangerous than conventional roadways, could we see the statistics that
- support this assertion?

- I have seen data on types of accidents and inferences drawn (very
- indirectly) that bikeways provide little benefit, but I have *not* seen
- statistics directly supporting the contention that there is a greater
- likelihood of accident or a greater likelihood of serious injury or death
- on bikeways or bike paths.

- Before we accept what some may view as a counterintuitive conclusion
- (separation from cars is unsafe), how about the evidence?
