- In re the heat: Although Tucson is slightly cooler than Phoenix (and a damn
- sight better place to live), it still gets quite warm in the Summer months.
- Although this is compensated in part by delightful winters, it can still be
- quite opressive. Even the evenings can be too hot to ride in July and August.
- My solution (quite obvious really) is to ride in the morning. Arizona does not
- go on daylight savings time, so the Sun comes up early. Plan to ride between
- 5:30 and 9:00 AM -- it's really beautiful here at that time of day.
-
- The mountain bike possibilities are endless. In Tucson, nobody stares at lycra-
- clad cyclists; in Phoenix, they probably do -- they're all overweight midwesterners
- there who refuse to live without lawns.
