I own a 1987 Nissan Maxima with 87000 miles. When my engine is cold(usually morning), the automatic transmission does not shift to third gear. It is only after about a mile later when the car is warmed up that it finally shifts to third and fourth gears. After the initial difficult shift, the car shifts to the third and fourth gears without any difficulty.
The transmission fluid level is fine, and the transmission fluid was changed recently.
Is this something to be concerned about? Or is this common among older transmissions and something I should live with?
