- The rating of the T-5 depends on the type you get -
- after market ones have a slightly higher rating than the OEM
- unit - although it is still low for most modified applications.
- A few companies sell replacement trannies that have higher torque
- capabilities.

- The Borg-Warner transmission you are reffering to (I think),
- is called the T-56 and despite the name is a complete redesign of
- the T-5. It is 6 speed, has a much higher torque rating, and is very
- light (for its capabilities). It also has many other improvements
- over the T-5 - but it can not be droped into previous T-5 locations,
- it is very different. Currently it is used by the Viper. I think the
- next generation Camaro is also using it (they didn't go with the ZF
- transmission of the Vette).

- Stick with the 5.0 - a lot can be done and remain emmsions legal.
- Screw the Mustang's flexible chassis - stick the engine in a
- stronger chassis with a better suspension.
