- Are there any PC CD ROM drives out there that will allow copying of audio CD's
- to the hard disk under UNIX or DOS? I realize an audio CD has no file
- system set up on it, but I would like to be able to do
-
- cat < /dev/cdrom >filename
-
- and read the raw bit stream from an *audio* CD (not a CD ROM with some audio
- tracks on it!). I don't know if a CD ROM has the same AES/EBU data
- format as an audio CD (2-32bit words per frame containing left/right channels).
- Even if a CD ROM didn't have the same word format, I would still think
- it should be possible to read the raw bit stream from audio CD's. Anybody know?
- Please respond directly to me and I will post a summary. Thanks..
