- Not necessarily. If the chip is on the 'label' side and is deep enoigh to
- have penetrated the aluminum layer, the information is damaged. In
- addition, the laquer seal has been broken so the aluminium will oxydize.
- The disk is junk.

- If the chip is on the other side (the side that's read), the digital
- information hasn't been damaged and if the damage is slight, it may be
- repaired. I've never done this because I've never had the misfortune of
- having a disc damaged but there are abrasives that can be purchased for
- this purpose. I've even hear that toothpaste works...
