- From Gannett News Service
-
- "Women Reveal A Passion For Beer"
-
- Four of five women surveyed consider themselves to be beer drinkers,
- according to research on 500 women by the U. of Pennsylvania. Thirty-six
- perecent of these women drink seven or more glasses a week.
-
- What's more, 75% of the beer drinking women polled do not perceive beer
- to be a male associated beverage, according to the study commissioned by
- the Dock Street Brewery in Philadelphia.
-
- Also:
-
- * Women seem to drink beer primarily on the basis of economic strata.
- Women who make more money drink beer, while women making less than 35K
- tend to stick to wine and wine coolers.
-
- * Women tend to be more adventurous than men about what beer they choose.
-
- * 46% of the women beer drinkers prefer imported beer but only 38% of
- those women preferred light beer.
-
- * Most beer-drinking women tend to be in their mid-20's, but under age
- 60. Older women tend to drink wine and mixed drinks, if they drink at
- all.

- GEnie's Peek At The Soaps
- -------------------------
-
- GE> The new woman this week in Pine Valley is a big secret. The only thing we
- GE> know for sure is that actress Kristen Jensen is handling the role of the
- GE> mysterious woman who will apparently save Jack Montgomery's life during a
- GE> car accident.
- GE>
- GE> The character will then become very important in his life, especially now
- GE> that actress Season Hubley is gone as Angelique.
-
- [BTW, that had to be one of the "coldest" Jane Doe phone call break-ups in
- Daytime history. Geeze..."Don't call again."? Ouch. Break out the Excedrin.]
-
-
- GE> Jensen is a model and a newcomer to daytime TV. One final "AMC"
- GE> note: will there be a new Brian in the New Year?
- GE>
- GE> For those of you keeping score, the 20th Daytime Emmy Awards will be
- GE> presented and broadcast live on NBC a month earlier than usual. The
- GE> telecast takes place in prime time on May 26th, a provision that allows the
- GE> popular show to earn some ratings points for the peacock network in the
- GE> important ratings month of May. Ballots will be mailed to voters on
- GE> February 26th with the eligibility period running out on february 5.
- GE> Nominations will be announced on March 31 with the judging to be held at
- GE> the end of April and the beginning of May.

-
- GE> Hayley and Charlie's feelings for each other grow.
-
- [That's really close to Jailbait City. Are we not supposed to know that
- Lawford is 37??]
-
-
- GE> Erica remains in shock and the doctors refuse
- GE> to allow Dimitri to visit with her.
-
- GE> Taylor passes her police exam.
