  12. I found this in the South China Morning Post dated December 17, 1992...
  13. Apparently the author does not appreciate fine soap opera...I swear this
  14. is what is written...I had to chuckle at his obvious disdain for our
  15. stars!

  17. Soap fever in Delhi:  Strange happenings over at STAR Plus - Lucky channel
  18. presenter John Moorehead is in Los Angeles, showing two even luckier viewers
  19. around the set of the cheap and tacky soap opera Santa Barbara(it has its own
  20. set?).

  22. Apparently, Santa Awful has taken off in India in a big way and STAR execs were
  23. astounded first by the show's soaring ratings, and second by the number of 
  24. people who actually entered the competition to visit the set of the daytime
  25. soap.

  27. Now, to placate the clamoring hordes, STAR has launched a second "Meet the
  28. Capwells" competition(the Capwells are the central family of the show, with
  29. acting abilities comparable to the cast of The Thunderbirds).

  31. And the station is flying four cast members to New Delhi - the alleged actors
  32. who play CC, Mason, Gina, and Julia Capwell - and the 1500 lucky viewers will
  33. be able to meet them(500 winners bringing two guests each to an "extravagent"
  34. party at the Taj Palace in February).

  36. This is actually good news, readers.  The Capwells are not coming to the 
  37. territory, so you will not have to read about them in Keeping Posted.  
  38. Discriminating viewers in Hongkong have given the never-ending soap the
  39. thumbs-down apparently.

  42. Isn't this a hoot???? alleged actors...Santa Awful...cheap and tacky...I wonder
  43. what's happening on the show in New Delhi...maybe they're in the middle of
  44. the bad plots that hit about two years into the show(when the Dobsons left or
  45. some such crisis)...
