- Micah's Mansion, he's stirring Xmas grog as Aurora comes downstairs and
- oohs and ahhhs over the Christmas tree. Gio. pops in and asks Micah if
- he decorated the tree himself and Micah says of course not, it was done
- by a florist. Gio makes sarcastic comments about family traditions and
- decorating the tree together and Micah contends that as far as he is
- concerned a family decorating a tree together only causes grief and feels
- it's much better to *greet* the tree already decorated. Lisa arrives
- and Gio accuses Micah of plotting something. Micah counters that Gio
- is only human and it's natural to appreciate a beautiful woman. There
- is more of the same battle they've been having since he arrived. Rafe
- shows up (apparently he was parking the car) and Micah looks a trifle
- disappointed.
-
- Reese, Warren and Sawyer are in the truck on their way back to the cabin
- re-telling the Reese-dressed-up-as-a-bear-and-Warren-almost-shooting-him
- story, when a real bear pops up in front of the truck and they start
- screaming their lungs out.
-
- BJ is still dusting the ornaments reflecting on what Jodie told her about
- she and Reese separating. She keeps questioning Jodie about why they are
- splitting up. She's afraid that she's the reason and Jodie tries to reassure
- her explaining that things haven't been good between she and Reese for
- some time. BJ isn't buying it, and begs Jodie not to keep any more secrets
- from her. She makes Jodie promise, which she does, reluctantly.
-
- Mason and Julia are back at the mansion with Gracie in tow. Gracie is
- amazed at the "joint" and goes on and on about how rich they must be. CC
- is just sort of sitting there taking it all in. Mason wants to know exactly
- what Gracie is going to do now that the father of the baby has rejected her.
-
- BJ and Jodie are still talking when the the men arrive with the Christmas
- tree. They try to tell the women about the bear but neither Jodie nor
- BJ believe them. Warren notices that something is wrong with BJ and
- questions her but she puts him off. She starts to relate even more Walker
- family Christmas traditions, how each of them makes ornaments for the tree
- and how each year a different member of the family puts the angel on the
- the top of the tree, and this year it's Sawyer's turn. She breaks down
- and embraces Reese and tells him that Jodie told her they were splitting up.
-
- Rosa has prepared a room for Gracie and Julia takes her up. Gracie wants
- to know why Julia is being so nice and Julia says "Because I am nice."
- Gracie confides a bit of her background to Julia, how she grew up in a
- large family and how they didn't have much. She confesses that if she can't
- bring her baby up right then she won't keep it. Julia gets a look on her
- face when she hears this. Downstairs, Mason is relating to CC how they
- met Gracie and tells CC that while Julia has bought Gracie story hook, line
- and sinker, he, Mason, isn't buying a word of it. Rosa enters and tells
- CC and Mason to keep an eye on her. Mason views this declaration by Rosa
- (who can spot a phoney immediately) as confirmation of his theory. Julia
- comes downstairs and confronts Mason for being such a scrooge. She tells
- him they have so much and there is no reason why they shouldn't share.
- Mason wants to throw her out and Julia is adamant about her staying. The
- subject of Mary and Joseph enters the conversation and Julia says "Mary
- had a nice warm manger with three wise men so Gracie gets a nice warm
- mansion with three very neurotic over-achievers." Mason counters that
- "this ain't Bethlehem it's Santa Barbara and it's 70 degrees outside."
- CC is just sitting back looking bemused while this exchange takes place.
- Mason is about to say something else when Gracie walks in. She's hungry
- and Julia asks Mason, "Do you mind if I give her a couple of crackers?"
- Mason, "Just a couple."
-
- At the cabin all the Walkers and Warren are decorating the tree and they
- are teasing BJ about breaking an ornament every year. BJ to appease them
- purposely breaks one. Phone rings and it's Micah wondering where Jodie
- is, she tells him she probably won't make it since she's doing "family"
- things. Micah is disappointed but says he understands. Reese overhears
- the conversation and tells Jodie that he and Sawyer should go on and go
- to Micah's. They don't want to leave Reese but BJ says that she and
- Warren will stay. Jodie tells Reese that she will stay if he wants her
- to but all they do is exchange longing looks. Sawyer comes out and he
- has Jodie's coat, hands it to her and Reese insists that she leave. They're
- off and Reese tells Warren and BJ to go also. BJ doesn't want to leave
- Reese alone but he tells her he won't be alone. She's a trifle surprised
- that he has a date but she and Warren take off anyway. Reese is left alone
- and he sits down and stares at the tree looking very forlorn.
-
- Julia, Mason, Sam and CC are relaxing at the mansion when CC gets Sam to tell
- Julia and Mason what she wants for Christmas. She pops out with "A baby
- brother". Julia tries to change the subject. CC finally brings up the
- subject of Sophia and her addiction to tranquilizers. J & M are suitably
- surprised and concerened. CC tells them about the intervention and feels
- that things should be okay now. In the background we see Gracie sneaking
- upstairs with a bag filled with something. Rosa spies her and goes after
- her. J & M follow Rosa and Rosa confronts Gracie in her room asking what's
- in the bag. Gracie explains that she's never seen so much food and
- explains she didn't think they would miss it.
-
- Micah answers the door and is surprised to see Jodie and Sawyer. Jodie
- explains that the reason she's there is because Reese told her to come.
- Sawyer explains how sad he is that his Dad is all alone. Gio is talking
- to Lisa and tells her she should really tell Rafe the truth about everything.
- Micah comes up and mentions seeing Lisa at the Oasis with what Micah took
- to be Rafe, Rafe confronts Lisa and asks her who it was since it wasn't
- him. Micah tries to get Jodie out of her funk and explains one of his
- Christmas traditions which has something to do with mistletoe. He escorts
- her under the aformentioned mistletoe and they kiss and I mean kiss.
- Flash to scene at the cabin Reese sitting all alone staring at the tree.
- Sawyer arrives at the cabin, Reese wants to know why, Sawyer explains it's
- his year to put the angel on the tree. They embrace (very touching scene).
- Sawyer puts the angel on top of the tree, they light it and stand in front
- of it together.
-
- Rosa apologizes to Julia for distrusting Gracie. As they leave Gracie's
- room, she starts talking to herself about how she could get real used to
- living like this and she has no intention of giving it up. She goes to the
- bag and says something like there's more where this came from and pulls a
- silver candelabra out of the bag.
-
- BJ and Warren has themselves a tree. In an effort to start their own
- family Christmas traditions they have bought a live tree and intend to
- plant it after Christmas. They are busy kissing and exchanging I love
- yous when Warren's turn to "I want you, I want you now.", BJ "I want you
- too." More kissing, move to couch, more kissing, BJ buries her face in
- Warren's chest and tell him,
- "I can't, I'm sorry"
- W: "I'm sorry"
- BJ" "It's me, I close my eyes and I see Frank."
- W: "It feels good just sitting here holding you. As much as I want to
- make love to you I want to wait until it's right for you."
- They hold one another and Warren starts stroking BJ's hair when the phone
- rings. Warren answers and takes down a number from someone on the other
- end. BJ asks him who was on the phone, he replies no one. She questions
- him again and he tells her it was just Nelson Norris. NELSON NORRIS, she
- screams, the publisher of World Classic Books!?! Yup, says Warren, he's
- interested in my book.
