- Same here. I LOVED that show when I was a kid. But a nitpick,
- the 'Black Sheep Squadron' was not the famous "Flying Tigers".
- The "Flying Tigers" were a volunteer organization helping to
- defend China from the Japanese in the pre-Pearl Harbor days.
- 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' was Marine Corps squadron VMF-214 in
- the Solomon Islands during 1943. Boyington was a pilot in
- both. Flying Tigers featured the P-40 Warhawk, VMF-214 flew
- the F4U Corsair. I'm still awed that Universal and NBC managed
- to assemble so many Corsairs for that show. Probably the last
- time we'll ever see that many examples of any WW2 fighter in
- formation.
