- Methinks Lady Johanna doth protest too much.
- There is a LARGE segment of the population that calls this stuff "Duck"
- tape, and I think it's more likely that the Lady was simply influenced by
- that belief (perhaps against her will), as opposed to it being a true typo
- (take note of the relative keyboard locations of the 'k' and the 't').
- Of course, if she says it's a typo, it's a typo. Who am I to doubt her?
-
- Upon seeing her initial posting, I was going to immediately post a follow-up
- correcting her for saying "duck" instead of "duct". BUT, I have seen "Duck"
- tape being advertised in one of my local home supply store flyers (no pun
- intended). I assumed it was also a typo, but when in the store I saw the
- stuff; it was the typical duct tape, but it was labelled as "Duck" tape,
- including a little duck mascot on the label!
-
- So, since the stuff is used for many applications by people who have never
- even seen a duct, we could probably call it duck tape, duct tape or anything
- else for that matter.
-
- ....but, it is really duct tape ;-)
