- Happy New Year, everyone.....time to start those new conversational
- threads!
-
- Last night, the BBC broadcast a one hour joint BBC/German TV show
- called I'M A STRANGER HERE MYSELF, about Kurt Weill's career after he
- moved to the US. Brief excerpts from the works in question were
- performed by a number of artists, including Judy Kaye. If it hasnt
- been broadcast in the US yet (it's only an hour long), keep your eyes
- out for it on A&E or PBS etc. etc.
-
- WEll, I know that Weill wrote Threepenny Opera and Street Scene and
- Lady in the Dark, but I dont actually _know_ them. And I didnt know
- many of the other scores mentioned. Would anyone care to
- comment on their favourite Weill works and recordings, and where they
- recommend the newcomer begin listening?
-
- Hope '93 treats us all favourably,
