  12. Happy New Year, everyone.....time to start those new conversational

  15. Last night, the BBC broadcast a one hour joint BBC/German TV show
  16. called I'M A STRANGER HERE MYSELF, about Kurt Weill's career after he
  17. moved to the US.  Brief excerpts from the works in question were 
  18. performed by a number of artists, including Judy Kaye.  If it hasnt 
  19. been broadcast in the US yet (it's only an hour long), keep your eyes 
  20. out for it on A&E or PBS etc. etc.

  22. WEll, I know that Weill wrote Threepenny Opera and Street Scene and
  23. Lady in the Dark, but I dont actually _know_ them.  And I didnt know 
  24. many of the other scores mentioned.  Would anyone care to 
  25. comment on their favourite Weill works and recordings, and where they 
  26. recommend the newcomer begin listening?
