  12. I recently purchased and listened to the original Broadway
  13. cast album for "How to Succeed in Business...," and heard
  14. Bonnie Scott in the role of Rosemary.  (Until now I'd 
  15. thought that Michelle Lee originated the role, but the
  16. liner notes explained that Lee took over the role from
  17. Scott.)

  24. I think she is absolutely fantastic.  Her voice is
  25. powerful and full of expression, which comes through on
  26. the cast album and punctuates the song lyrics
  27. much as Robert Morse and Faith Prince are able to do.
  28. I like Michelle Lee in the movie version, but after
  29. hearing the album I'm sorry that Scott wasn't in it instead, 
  30. and I'm also sorry that they cut some of
  31. her wonderful songs like "Happy to Keep his Dinner Warm,"
  32. and "Paris Original."  There was some recent discussion here
  33. of those missing songs, and now I understand the regret that
  34. was expressed.  Well, I'm glad they're preserved on the album.

  36. (BTW, the liner notes gave some more interesting info.
  37. The show was written with Robert Morse in mind; from the
  38. beginning he was "the one and only choice for the role
  39. of J. Pierpont Finch."  From the time "How to..." had
  40. financing and had secured Burrows and Loesser, it was
  41. tailored for Morse's talents.  I'm glad to find that out
  42. because I think Morse is one of the most talented 
  43. performers I've ever seen.)
