1. i think "kobyashi maru" is the correct spelling.
2. the enterprise was the third ship comissioned of the galaxy class
starship; the registry is ncc - 1701 D ("fifth starship to bear that name")
i think a recent episode put the crew of the enterprise at somewhere
between 1200-1400 people with more the its share of spouses and kids.
3. i think the hood was in one of the episodes and most likely was one of
the many excelsior class starships that pop up on the series (in the novel
"imzadi" a 50-year old wesley crusher was captain of the uss hood...)
4.the novel of STVI said that the fed president was a deltan (i still don't
really buy it, though...weren't they supposed to be bald?).
5. ***ugh.***
from what i remember from the various dark horse "Alien" comicbook series:
-i don't remember them ever being named (although i do like the short and
simple "bugs")
-they are generaly hive creatures who seem to have sorta moved through
space by a diasporra of sorts (propably some poor schlep landed on a
planet, looked around and took a little surprise with him...)
one series ("earth war", i think) had something like an alien homeworld in
it, although my memory is sketchy at best,,,
-aliens have no eyes but seem to have a radar of sorts (or they can smell
you from miles away or whatever...) and seem to be a somewhat lower
lifeform when it comes to intelligence. a pack a predators used them as the
designated prey in the "aliens vs. predators" series. and they do seem to
have severe trouble snuffing humans even if they outnumber then severly.
