- who the hell writes the background music for TNG?
- recently, i bought a tape with tracks from 2 episodes of TOS...
- Amok Time and The Doomsday Machine. the music was outstanding.
- It was so much more interesting and powerful than anything i've
- ever heard on TNG... and so much more memorable too! i cant
- remember anything they use on TNG except for that opening track...
- which i also do not like. I think the show needs to have a
- much more interesting... perhaps more SCI-FI sounding, if you will,
- treament of background and incidental music. The stuff they use now
- could be used on any damn prime-time show. What?!?! do they think
- they're being more sophisticated by using such passive music. Eventhough
- background music is just that... background music... i think it
- needs to stand on its own.
- anyway... i guess what i'm talking about is a symptom of a much
- larger problem... that is, Next Generation lacks vision and verve.
- Sure it has its moments, but on the whole i get the feeling that
- the wrong people are in control of this show.
