  22. I'm sure you speak for a good many people, and my response is:  Fandom,
  23. leave YOUR ego at the door.

  25. Television acting IS a job.  That's what Avery Brooks is being hired for,
  26. to act.  If he does a good job (and judging by his past performances, I
  27. have every reason to believe he will), then we fans will be lucky to have
  28. him as part of Star Trek.  He, or any other Star Trek actor, is under no
  29. obligation whatsoever to appear at conventions; it's not part of the job
  30. description.  From what I've seen at some of the cons, I'm not sure *I'd*
  31. want to appear at them either.

  33. Avery Brooks can best serve Star Trek, and Star Trek fandom, by giving the
  34. best performances he is capable of giving.  Period.
