- Sounds like you liked the episode more than I thought after reading your
- original post.
-
- Yeah, real cool, high-tech, futuristic torture methods would have been nice.
- Maybe mind probes could have been used, and when Picard was most vulnerable and
- using the French song and thoughts of his childhood and family, the room could
- have transformed via holographic techniques (eg. like the holodeck) to actually
- look like Picard's thoughts. Picard, in this state, might not be able to
- distinquish between his soothing thoughts and the holographic simulated reality.
- The Cardasians could have then made the pleasant images not so pleasant. Maybe
- have Picard's father dye of a heart attack while singing at the Picard family
- table or something equally as devasting happen. This would have been neat, and
- showed that:
-
- 1) The Cardasians are the most ruthless SOB's we have ever seen.
-
- 2) Even one's dreams and happy thoughts are not a sanctuary from torture
- in the 24th century.
-
- However, as far as STNG shows go, this was entertaining anyway.
-
