- Ah, now there is a TV station to remember. When I was a kid in California,
- KCOP was the low rent station around town. This meant that they had to
- run a lot of cheesy movies, and to grab viewers they walked a thin line
- towards "Adult" content. Lots of sleazy drive-in films, and the like.
- Sure they cut some things, but I will never forget finally seeing the
- end of "Brain That Wouldn't Die" with the Mutant in the closet ripping
- the arm off the lab assistant. Sure, they cut some gratuitous scenes of
- the guy smearing the walls with his blood, but the arm ripping was intact.
- Took me ten years to get to see that again, because most copies don't
- even have that footage!
-
- They used to run "Plan 9 From Outer Space", "Truck Stop Women" and a lot
- of made in the phillipines "horror" films, by the likes of Al Adamson.
- They were a big factor in my evolution into the semi-crazed movie
- fanatic I am now. Good to see they still have some taste!
- KCOP, I salute you!
-
- Happy Holidays to one and all!
- Pax
